- A: Team Setanta is A 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to identifying, training, coaching and developing athletes in the sport of bicycle racing. The ultimate objective of our organization is to achieve a degree of proficiency where our members are competitive on a national and international level. Emphasis is on young athletes as they have the most potential to reach the highest levels.

- Q: What does Setanta mean?
- A: The mythical Setanta was the young Cú Chulainn - the hero who led a great band of Ulster warriors. Setanta acquired the name Cú Chulainn - translated literally as 'hound of Culann' - when, after killing the ferocious watch hound of the blacksmith Culann, the boy warrior volunteered to guard the smith's house himself until a replacement dog could be found.

- Q: Where can I see Team Setanta Race?
- A: You can see us on many weekends in Central Park and Prospect Park. We also field a team in races such as The Bear Mountain Race in Harriman Park, the Union Vale Road Race in Poughkeepsie NY, and various other regional races throughout New England.

- A: We're all amateurs, we race bikes because we love the sport.

- Q: What is the average age of a Team Setanta member?
- A: Our target age for developmental athletes is 16-29. Our current members are as young as 18. Members of our coaching and training staff range in age from 30-50.

- A: To be a member of Team Setanta you must first have a USCF license and you must be a member of the Century Road Club Association If you have your license and you are a CRCA member, contact us. Someone will contact you with further information.
